High School Equivalency / Skills Improvement Classes

(Lifelong Learning Choices of Lawrence County)

Students can get a High School Equivalency credential (HSE) by passing either the GED® test OR the HiSET®. Lifelong Learning Choices provides instruction at all levels in the subjects needed to get the HSE— math, language arts, science and social studies. Students are also able to develop technology and computer literacy skills. Adults with a High School Diploma or Equivalent, who need to develop their skills to meet an employment or training goal, may also be eligible to attend.

Monday and Wednesday morning classes are on Zoom, Tuesday and Thursday in-person. Students who have completed 12 hours of instruction may be able to borrow a chromebook for class. Lifelong Learning Choices offers two levels of Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency Preparation classes. Students are assigned to the class that best meets their needs, where they build skills to move to the next level.
